Trichoderma viride For Healthy Soil

Trichoderma viride is a beneficial rhizosphere fungus that swiftly colonizes roots to form a protective microbial barrier, outcompeting harmful fungi while enhancing root architecture and nutrient uptake. By producing cell wall–degrading enzymes and bioactive metabolites and exhibiting mycoparasitism, it suppresses a broad range of soil-borne pathogens and activates plant defense mechanisms. The result is healthier roots, improved stress tolerance, and stronger crop establishment, vigor, and yield.

Mode of Action

  • Colonizes the rhizosphere rapidly and establishes itself around plant roots, forming a protective microbial barrier.
  • Competes aggressively with harmful fungi for space and nutrients, limiting their establishment and spread.
  • Produces a wide range of extracellular enzymes such as chitinases and glucanases that degrade fungal cell walls.
  • Exhibits mycoparasitic behavior by attaching to pathogenic fungi, coiling around their hyphae, and penetrating them.
  • Secretes secondary metabolites and volatile compounds that inhibit the growth of soil-borne pathogens
  • Enhances root development and nutrient uptake by improving root architecture and stimulating plant growth
  • Activates plant defense mechanisms, leading to increased resistance against stress and disease pressure.
  • Improves overall soil microbial balance by promoting beneficial microflora in the root zone.

Expected Results

  • Improved root health with reduced incidence of soil-borne diseases in the rhizosphere
  • Enhanced plant vigor and stronger root system leading to better nutrient uptake.
  • Increased tolerance of plants to environmental and biological stress conditions.
  • Overall improvement in crop growth, establishment, and yield performance.
